20.00

Material: steel ste3

100% Hand forged, torsion bars.
Weight 80-120 gr.

splicing-fid is rigging tool in the form of a straight or slightly bent wooden or iron rod with a thickening, loop or cap on one end and pointed at the other end. A splicing-fid is used to pierce (disconnect) strands of rope. Most splicing-fids are 12 to 20 cm long.
splicing-fid is used to work with vegetable cables (hemp, sisal).
Also, sailors use it in fights, like truckers use a crowbar =)

This rigging tool gave its name to the fish “marlin” (marlinspike) – the nose of the fish resembles this tool.

splicing-fid is also a thick nail or spike with a big head for the Russian folk game of svayka, where you have to hit a ring lying on the ground with the svayka. Or there is another variant of the game, where a ring must be thrown onto a pile sticking out of the ground.
