Grossmesser, Grossmeister, Kriegsmesser (German: Großes Messer, Kriegs­messer, sometimes lange Messer, English: Grosmeister) — literal translation: large, military, or long knife. It represents a combat knife grown to the size of a sword. The two-handed variant of this weapon is commonly called Kriegsmesser and has been known since the 16th century. Very close to a falchion, only longer.
