Knitted Scandinavian hat, which existed in this form for several centuries, up to the 15th century.
Despite its small size and low thickness, the hat perfectly protects the head and ears from cold and wind. A very comfortable hat to wear. After an hour or two of wearing, you stop feeling it on your head. In summer, such a hat protects the head from direct sunlight and heat stroke, and in autumn and winter from hypothermia.
With a double thickness knit, it can well act as an arming cap.
