This beautiful round shield mimics the shape and size of the shields used by Barbarian chieftains of the Dark Ages and Vikings from the Early Medieval period.

It can be made from either plywood with a design that mimics planks, or in a wooden version using durable ash wood boards that display the noble pattern of the wood’s layers and fibers.

All metal parts are meticulously hot-forged and carefully fitted together, with many details highlighting the shield’s rugged, barbaric beauty.

For example, the leather rim on the inside of the shield is not trimmed but retains the natural texture of the hide’s edge, while some of the metal parts show traces of hammer strikes, but not in an overly obvious way, so as to avoid any sense of unfinished or careless craftsmanship.

The hand-painted design further emphasizes the shield’s individuality and gives it a finished appearance, filling the shield’s field without leaving empty spaces.

The shield can be complemented by a pair of axes with attachments on the back, creating a beautiful display piece for your wall.
