Plate Necklace XVI-XVII centuries

150.00

Western and Eastern Europe.

Mild Steel, thickness 1.5-2mm, matte grinding.

Innovation, the beginning of which was the modification of the necklace, cannot be underestimated. The heavy chest and dorsal plates were lightened, they became smaller and now, with their thinning edges, they reached only the level of the second rib, still protecting a significant part of the body.
For ease of dressing, the necklace was connected on the right side to the shoulder strap, the second belt, on the left, was fastened already after the armor was put on, this belt was threaded with a tip into the hole located on the plate covering the throat.
