Description
Also well known as the “lobster tail” Lobstertail Helmet-a helmet from the time of the English Civil War. The helmet was introduced into widespread use by Gottfried Heinrich PAPPENHEIM, hence its common name.
The helmet appeared as a result of the development of the Bourguignot and some Eastern European (Polish) influence. The helmet lasted in service until the XVIII century, until the complete abandonment of metal armor.
The Pappenheim helmet was found in the English description, along with the Lobstertail Helmet.
The Germans call these helmets Zischagge (shishak)
