Milanese plate legs are an integral part of full Milanese knight armor.
They provided almost 100% protection of the owner’s feet from the melee weapons and most types of ranged weapons of the time.
Only part of the back and inner thighs remained open, but they were usually covered by the saddle in which the knight sat. The plate legs were attached to the reinforcing doublet. A special canvas sleeveless jacket that the knight put on his body. The reinforcement doublet made it possible to distribute the severity of the plate legs throughout the body without restricting movements.
