A RONDEL DAGGER, or a rondel dagger (Rond – circle fr.) is a type of dagger where two disks were used instead of a guard and a pommel. A dagger of this type has been known since the 14th century, but its heyday falls on the 15th-16th centuries.
Like all the other daggers, the rondel from the weapons of the common people gradually turned into an element of the knights’ equipment. Like other types of daggers, the rondel was widely distributed among all segments of the population of medieval Europe. In Central, Western and Northern Europe, they were worn everywhere, mainly suspended from a belt on the right or front.
It will be an excellent addition to the costume of any professional warrior or mercenary, because commoners or robbers and other scum did not wear such a dagger.
