In the book Archaeology. Ancient Rus. Life and Culture in the chapter dedicated to the Old Russian costume, in the clothes section, M.A. Saburova writes:
In addition to entire dresses, a variety of clothing parts that have survived almost completely are known in archaeological sites. Thus, a men’s felt hat in the form of a cap, 20.5 cm high, was found in the layers of Novgorod of the 13th century.
