A type XVII sword is a sword with a blade that tapers strongly to the tip, the cross section of which is usually hexagonal. Many Type XVII swords have a shallow short dale located in the upper quarter of the blade. The hilt of the sword is always long. Swords of this type usually used pommels of type “H1”, or types T, T2, T4 (cork-shaped), which appeared at the end of the XIV century.
