Roman short sword gladius with blade type “Pompeii”.
The artifacts of this sword were found during the excavations of the city of Pompeii, which was destroyed during the eruption of the Vesuvius volcano in 79 AD.
The blade is made of spring tempered steel.
Blade is hardened (Hardness 50 HRC).
Polished.
Hilt – beech, brass. The handle of the sword is wooden, figured, with brass inserts.
