Initially, the Russian irregular cavalry was armed with a Caucasian type of shashka, which had a blade of small curvature with a two-blade combat end and a hilt consisting of one handle with a bifurcated head, without any protection to arm.
Such a typically Caucasian hilt can generally be considered one of the main distinguishing features of drafts as a type of cold steel.

Spring tempered steel. Hardening 50 HRC. Polished.

The total length of the saber: 90-91 cm.
