The sword of the Carolingian Dynasty era or simply the Carolingian is a very recognizable symbol of weapons of the Early Middle Ages or the Viking Age, as it is called in the West. These swords are characterized by wide blades and massive decorated pommels, which are perhaps less convenient in combat than swords of later eras, but at the same time reflect the centuries-old weapon tradition of the Ancient Northern Germanic peoples and Scandinavians, and later Ancient Rus. Swords of this type are found in many fantasy settings. For example, the Rohirrim in the Lord of the Rings or the Nords in the Elder Scrolls (Morrowind) universe were armed with similar swords.

Protected LARP Weapons are models specially made of soft polyurethane foam. These models are used at role-playing games where fiberglass or duralumin weapons are not allowed.

Protected LARP weapons are soft and lightweight, so the risk of causing injury with them is minimal. They are used at events with a minimum amount of armor.
Also, protected LARP weapons are excellent for night role-playing battles, where usually no other weapons are allowed.
