– A battle flail, thresher — a contact bladed weapon of crushing and striking-crushing action, consisting of two (rarely — three) flexibly articulated hard sticks.
– Most varieties of this weapon originate from the agricultural flail. The segments of the flail — the handle (shaft, haft) and the striking weight (beater) — were usually wooden and connected using a short suspension — a rope or a short-link chain.
– The beater was often reinforced — bound with metal, equipped with spikes. In some cases, it was made all-metal.
– A very unusual and effective weapon to use.
– First, the opponent rarely knows how to counter such a projectile.
– Second, the striking part, despite the short articulation, easily bypasses parrying weapons, shields of any size and even fortress walls, hitting the opponent behind them.
– Third, the pole length allows keeping several opponents at a distance, and the freely moving Beater distracts the opponents’ attention and does not allow them to understand where the next strike will be directed.
– Protected LARP Weapons are models specially made of soft polyurethane foam. These models are used at role-playing games, trainings, and other entertainment events where fiberglass or duralumin weapons are not allowed.
– Protected LARP weapons are soft and lightweight, so the risk of causing injury with them is minimal. They are used at events with a minimum amount of armor.
– Also, protected LARP weapons are excellent for night role-playing battles, where usually no other weapons are allowed.
