Tophelm von Dargen, Luxury Model

300.00

Pomerania, Germany. Late 13th to early 14th century.

A classic pot-shaped helmet.

Material: Steel 3, 2 mm thick

Matte finish

Painted interior

This model of the tophelm is crafted with a higher degree of historical accuracy and is primarily designed for reenactment rather than foot combat in buhurts.

Narrow vision slits, true to the original design, and small ventilation holes make it more suitable for mounted displays and assembling a historically accurate armor set.

The Dargen Helmet is perhaps the most famous and widely replicated design in modern pop culture (cinema, illustrations). It serves as the basis for numerous reconstructions and decorative pieces.

Historical Background:

The helmet was discovered among the ruins of Schlossberg Castle near the village of Dargen in Pomerania (Germany). It is dated to the second half of the 13th century. Similar helmets appear in iconography from 1250 to 1350.
