The Kuban whip differs from the Don by the method of attaching the whip to it, in this case they are woven into each other. These distinguishing characteristics were important in the choice of technology of warfare. The Kuban whip was more effective for applying snap strikes, and the Don whip was more effective for rotating the whip horizontally, relative to the stationary handle. In skilled hands, such a simple and uncomplicated weapon turned into a rather dangerous one, capable of instantly repelling an enemy attack. It was used both on foot and in horse combat. Not everyone was able to learn how to master the whip, so the more capable fighters always had a significant advantage in their hands.
