Jian (trad. chi. 劍, simp. chi. 剑, pinyin jiàn; cantonese: Gim3) is a Chinese straight sword.
In the Bronze Age (Western Zhou and early Chunqiu), the blade length was usually less than half a meter. The first cast bronze jians appeared in the Western Zhou era, but they became most widespread during the Warring States period, at which time some jians began to be forged from steel. During the Tang Dynasty, the jian in the troops began to give way to the dao, and after the fall of this dynasty, the jian became a ceremonial weapon.

Protected LARP Weapons are models specially made of soft polyurethane foam. These models are used at role-playing games where fiberglass or duralumin weapons are not allowed.
Protected LARP weapons are soft and lightweight, so the risk of causing injury with them is minimal. They are used at events with a minimum amount of armor.
Also, protected LARP weapons are excellent for night role-playing battles, where usually no other weapons are allowed.
Protected weapons are safe even for children.
