The scepter (from the Greek σκῆπτρον “stick, staff, wand”) is the most ancient symbol of power, used by the pharaohs. The original image of the scepter was a shepherd’s staff borrowed by the church as a sign of pastoral authority; European rulers replaced it with shorter sticks – scepters.
This scepter is of limited use as a weapon, because its shaft is elastic and the upper part of the fighting part is treaded. But the stiffness of this piece allows it to be used with great care so as not to injure an opponent.
