A classic bastard sword of the Late Middle Ages. Type XVI by Oakeshott.
In the conditions of role-playing fencing, it is perfect for any warrior for both one-handed combat and two-handed grip.
Light weight of the sword allows you to strike fast and accurate blows without accumulating fatigue in your hands.
The type XVI sword, as Oakeshott noted, “obviously served a dual purpose-both pricking and chopping.” The blades taper to a rather sharp point. The best combination of chopping and stabbing abilities is seen from the point of view of the cross-section of the blade. The upper part of the blade resembles older chopping swords (such as types X – XIV), being “wide, with a clearly defined deep dale going much lower than half the length of the blade.” The lower part of the blade has a “rigid, four-sided section” of the flat diamond type, providing good blade abilities for stabbing
