Riveted rings + 100 €

Polovtsy, XIII century. Perhaps the South Russian principalities of the same time.

Steel 3. The thickness of the steel is 1.5 mm.
By default, folded chain mail rings are placed on greaves

The greaves were made of iron. They were on the feet of the buried. Initially, greaves were connected to the knee pads with a chainmail strip. The knee pads had a rounded upper edge. The length of the leggings is 68 cm, the width in the center is 18 cm. Unfortunately, only one greave has been preserved, and then not completely.
Finds of armor in the burials of nomads of the XII-XIV centuries are quite rare. However, against this background, the monuments of the Golden Horde time of steppe Prikuban and Eastern Zakuban stand out. Armor is quite common in them. These are, first of all, helmets and chain mail. To date, about a hundred burials of nomads of the XII-XIV centuries are known in this territory. 18 helmets and chain mail were found in them.
However, the finds of such details of protective armor as bracers and greaves in the burials of nomads of the Eastern European steppes of the XII-XIV centuries are not just rare, but isolated.
In the burial at the Dmitrievskaya station, objects were found that researchers had previously dated to the pre-Mongol time (straightened hryvnia, cauldron, breast plates). However, now the dating is being revised, since these items existed in the Golden Horde period. Thus, the burial can be firmly dated to the second half of the XIII – XIV centuries.
