“Holbein” (“Holbein dagger”) is a common name for the Swiss variety of the baselard dagger. The German Renaissance artist Hans Holbein the Younger (1497-1543), while working in Basel (Switzerland), developed a design for a number of daggers that gained considerable fame. Despite the fact that Holbein’s work concerned only the design of the scabbard, the entire variety of daggers came to be called by his surname, a characteristic feature of which was a semicircular pommel and crossguard facing each other with concave sides.

The name of the baselard, as a historical variety of dagger, as well as the dagger of the SS, storm detachments (SA) and other organizations of the Third Reich. The German Renaissance artist Hans Holbein the Younger (1497-1543), while working in Basel (Switzerland), developed the design of a number of daggers that gained considerable fame. Protected LARP Weapons are models specially made of soft polyurethane foam. These models are used at role-playing games, trainings, and other entertainment events where fiberglass or duralumin weapons are not allowed.
Protected LARP weapons are soft and lightweight, so the risk of causing injury with them is minimal. They are used at events with a minimum amount of armor.
Also, protected LARP weapons are excellent for night role-playing battles, where usually no other weapons are allowed.
