Such large axes were called brodeks and were mounted on a long shaft (from 150 to 180 cm) convenient for battle with two hands.
Brodex is a rather massive ax with a characteristic crescent-shaped blade curvature.
Most likely, the origin of the brodex can be attributed to the development period of the frank and alamann axes
