This is the quilted armor of Rus, Asia and the East which is relevant from the 12th to the 17th century.
Provides good protection itself and excellent cushioning for metal armor over it. In general, it follows the cut of a civil swing jacket and most often has a length below the knee.
Both quilted and padded versions of such armor are allowed.
Diamond-shape quilting is often found on the images of the time and corresponds to the accepted appearance of soldiers.
