Streletsky helmet – a type of helmet. It was part of the uniform of some archers. It is a kind of “iron caps” according to the classification of Viskovatov.

This helmet was distinguished by a hemispherical tulle with small margins. It was made of iron. Such a helmet resembled a helmet, but it was intended primarily for protection against cold weapons. The fields were protected from the blade of a weapon that could slip off the helmet upon impact. Most importantly, this helmet was very convenient for archers. He did not close the view, which was extremely important when shooting from squeakers.

Archery helmets were used in the Moscow kingdom by archers who did not wear hats. They went out of use at the end of the XVII – beginning of the XVIII century in connection with the liquidation of the Strelets army.
