Embossed Tarsoly bag “Tag 716” with brass trim

75.00

Leather 2.2 mm, waxing, hand seam, linen thread.
Maximum sizes up to 13×14 cm.
Lining size 3,5×4,2 cm.

A sabretache bag (from German “Tasche”) is one of the few options that have been preserved to this day for wearing personal items on a belt.
Most of the bags were restored thanks to the well-preserved valves of these bags. The valves of the bags were often decorated with plates of non-ferrous or precious metals. It was by their location in the graves that the shapes of these beautiful handbags were restored.
Some of the lids were made entirely of silver with beautiful chased ornaments and gilding.
It is assumed that this form of handbags was very common in Russia and its neighbors.
We offer you a Scandinavian version of this bag from Birka, burial 716, which you can safely use at historical festivals.
